The uncertainty of the coming school year is unsettling for all of us, especially for our children. My goal is to make these unprecedented times as productive as possible for the benefit of our children’s’ development. I have decided that I will be developing supplemental curriculum for our children (first and third grades) and plan to offer these and other services to parents who find themselves thrust into the role of primary educator for their own kids without training or support. I am a Certified Early Educator in Maine and have my Masters in Early Childhood Education. My teaching philosophy is based around hands-on interactive learning activities and teaching using multiple learning styles, since not all children learn in the same way. I strive to integrate all subjects and believe play is a huge part of how young children learn so I also include play throughout. I taught Kindergarten for 8 years before starting our family and have been volunteering and substituting at the Mabel I Wilson School since both our children began there. If you are interested in having a more consistent and qualified support person for your child and help with developing lessons, planning, and successful teaching strategies, please contact me through this site and we can discuss your needs. Please note that these services are offered remotely; I do not intend to have in-person learning pods or a co-op arrangement until the it is safe to do so.
